Depart from your Hanoi hotel at 7:00 transferring to Mai Chau. Daydream as we drive a safe route with spectacular views. Start trekking from Nam Son and into Pu Luong Nature Reserve.
This is a wonderful trek to Nu Village. Be prepared for it to get slipperary if the weather turns bad. Our host family will welcome us when we arrive Free time to take rest and have a shower before having a traditional dinner. Overnight here.

Breakfast at the homestay, then a short walk to the school Get aquainted with the teachers and the students then we will spend 2 hours teaching English.
Same amount of time in the afternoon to spend time with the class helping them to improve their English. Lunch and dinner at the same homestay of the same village of Nua.
Have breakfast then say goodbye to your new friends and hosts. We will make a quick stop at the school before starting our challenging trek. From Nua Village we travel 4 km to Hin Village. Continuing on we will take opportunities to cool down in local streams, pass limestone mountains, explore caves and visit other villages. Picnic lunch enroute.
Overnight in Khu Muong village - possibly one of the most picturesque villages in Vietnam.There is an easier trekking route upon request.

Life starts early here so do take the opportunity to stroll around the village before having breakfast. At 8:00 am we start our trek. Today we will be walking approximately 1 hour.
We hike up to Dong Dieng village and stop for ashort rest to experience the local daily life. From here our driver will pick us up and take us to Mai Chau for lunch.
After lunch, free time to walk around the village, then transfer back to Hanoi. Arrive back about 6:00 pm.

I have dealt with many tourism related services in Vietnam and I must say that Footprint are incredibly professional and to be congratulated for their work in promoting cultural tourism in a sustainable way with 'ethnic' Tribal communities. what really impressed me most was the way in which they support communities such as Pu Luong. Footprint duties as a kind of community work-they don't take money from you for your stay all financial transactions are between you and the villagers.
