Vietnam’s Visa Policy Just Got More Tourist-Friendly

By expanding its visa exemption policy, Vietnam is making it easier for international travelers to visit. As of March 15, 2025, citizens from 12 countries can enjoy visa-free entry for up to 45 days until March 14, 2028. The 12 countries included in this exemption are:

  • Germany
  • France
  • Italy
  • Spain
  • United Kingdom
  • Russia
  • Japan
  • South Korea
  • Denmark
  • Sweden
  • Norway
  • Finland

Additionally, tourists from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland will also benefit from a visa waiver between March 1 and December 31, 2025.

These changes are part of Vietnam’s ongoing efforts to boost tourism and attract more foreign visitors. This presents a fantastic opportunity for travel agencies and tour operators to promote Vietnam as a hassle-free, must-visit destination.

Expanded Entry Options with E-Visas

To further facilitate smooth entry, Vietnam has also expanded its e-visa accessibility. Visitors holding e-visas can enter the country through:

  • 8 international airports
  • 16 land border gates
  • 13 seaports

This expansion means travelers have more flexibility in planning their trip, making Vietnam a more accessible destination than ever before.

Why This Matters for Foreign Travel Companies

1. Easier Entry Means More Bookings

With extended visa-free stays and streamlined entry processes, Vietnam becomes a more attractive choice for travelers. Promoting longer stays and multi-destination itineraries will be easier, leading to more bookings for travel companies.

2. Visa-Free Travel Boosts Tourism Demand

Travelers often choose destinations where visas are not a barrier. The extended visa exemption encourages spontaneous trips and long-term visits, benefiting travel agencies, hotels, and tour operators.

3. More Points of Entry Increase Accessibility

With multiple air, land, and sea entry points, travel companies can design diverse itineraries that appeal to different traveler preferences, from adventure tourism in the northern mountains to luxury cruises in Halong Bay.
